Suraj: One Month Intensive Dzogchen Meditation Retreat with Palden Sherb R. & Tsewang Dongyal R. March 11 - April 8, 2006 Location: Padma Samye Ling, New York ESSENSE TEACHINGS OF THE DZOGCHEN by Great Master Vimalamitra In the ancient Nyingma school, Dzogchen - "the Great Perfection" - represents the pinnacle of the Buddhist path and the ultimate and final teaching of the Buddha. Dzogchen is the direct method for swiftly realizing the ultimate nature of the mind and attaining Buddhahood in the Rainbow Light Body. This is accomplished through two Dzogchen practices called kadak trekcho (direct introduction through cutting thoroughly) and lhundrub togal (spontaneously leaping over). Through trekcho practice, one becomes familiar with the empty nature of reality. Through togal, one practices on luminosity, coming to realize through direct perception the spontaneous self-perfection of everything. Following in the footsteps of the ancient lineage of Nyingmas, we will put these rare and precious teachings into practice with joy and devotion. Held in noble silence, this retreat is arranged to provide space to receive the pith instructions and deepen personal Dzogchen meditation with the guidance of our beloved Khenpos. Instructions on Trekcho and Togal will be given throughout the retreat , with the primary emphasis being on Togal instructions. The second two week section of retreat will focus on the application of these instructions both individually and as as group. As preparation, Rinpoches request that all those wishing to attend the teachings please practice Guru Yoga and Vajrasattva recitation before coming to the retreat as much as you can. A reminder to all retreatants making arrangements: Venerable Rinpoches wish very much to conclude this retreat together, as one mandala, with special ceremonies of accomplishment on Saturday, April 8. Students are required to pre-register at the earliest convenience as space is limited and other preparations need to be made so that we all may enjoy a harmonious and restful retreat. Suraj: WORLD LEADER OF BON TO PRESENT A FIVE-DAY TEACHING OF A-TRI DZOGCHEN PRACTICE IN USA MAY 2006. A-Tri Dzogchen Teachings May 2-7, 2006 Garrison Institute, Garrison, NY with His Holiness Lungtok Tenpa¹i Nyima Rinpoche 33rd Menri Trizen The Bon Foundation is pleased to announce that His Holiness Menri Trizin 33rd Lungtok Tenpai Nyima, will return to the United States to present a five-day transmission of the A-Tri Dzogchen meditation technique. In 2004, His Holiness taught the A-Tri preliminary practices to students in the US, and he has agreed to return to teach the practice itself. This profound meditation system is an advanced and direct practice with the potential to bring sincere practitioners to the liberated state of Buddha-hood in a single lifetime. Unique to Menri Monastery, founded in 1405, the A-Tri Dzogchen practice was first developed in the eleventh century and has been transmitted through an unbroken lineage of lamas whose biographies are well documented. His Holiness is the current holder of that lineage. The A-Tri transmission will be given at Garrison Institute Garrison, New York on May 2-7, 2006. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will attract many students and space will be limited. Students wishing to receive these teachings need not have attended any of the preliminary practices retreats held previously. Suraj: 14TH ANNUAL SUMMER RETREAT: "TUMMO – INNER FIRE OF REALIZATION," JULY 2-22, 2006, WITH GESHE TENZIN WANGYAL RINPOCHE AT SERENITY RIDGE For 15 years Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche has presented the dzogchen teachings of the Bon Buddhist tradition in the West. His teachings and commentaries convey a fundamental understanding of spiritual practice in the context of modern Western life. His ability to make these once-hidden teachings accessible, while maintaining the purity of their transmission, has allowed his students to move beyond conceptual understanding and bring authentic dzogchen experience into their conventional lives. In his soon-to-be-published book, Tenzin Rinpoche presents very simple, clear and direct instructions for integrating spiritual practice through the three doors of body, speech and mind. This summer, at Ligmincha Institute's Serenity Ridge Retreat Center, Tenzin Rinpoche will combine material from his book with practice instructions from the text Ku Sum Rang Shar (Spontaneous Arising of the Three Kayas). This text is by Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche, a Bon master who achieved the body of light, or rainbow body, in 1934. At this year's annual summer retreat Rinpoche will guide and instruct us in the practice of tummo (generating the inner heat) to burn away subtle obscurations and cultivate bliss. He will also teach meditation practices for retrieving healing essences from nature and the elements, which will include light fasting combined with herbal drinks to purify and rejuvenate the body and enhance meditative experience. We will engage the mind and speech with prayer, healing sounds, mantra and visualization; and we will incorporate the potent body movements of Tsa Lung, Trul Khor and prostrations. Rinpoche is happy to announce that both Geshe Nyima Kunchap and Geshe Tenzin Yeshe will join him at the retreat to help lead these practices. It is Tenzin Rinpoche's sincere wish that through the intensive study and practice opportunity offered during this year's summer retreat, each student will find his or her own door to a life that is more physically healthy, energetically vital and spiritually fulfilling. As always, you may come for one, two or all three weeks of the summer retreat. If you are new to Serenity Ridge, or able to come for only one week, Rinpoche recommends that you come to the first week, when an in-depth explanation of the practices will be offered. Of course all are welcome no matter which week they attend. Each week is designed to be a complete series of teachings, and a direct and powerful healing experience with aspects of all of the practices presented each week. Week One: July 2-8 / Week Two: July 9-15 / Week Three: July 16-22 Retreat cost PER WEEK (includes meals): $450 received by May 21; $500 received by June 15; $550 received after June 15 Note: Those who participate in the summer work retreat will receive a 50% discount on one week of the summer retreat. ***** Serenity Ridge Summer Work Retreat: June 27–July 1, 2006 This is a wonderful time to share with sangha and to be of joyful service. Suraj: His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche To Begin Cycle of the "Collection of All the Sadhanas" June 7 - 17, 2006 http://sakyatemple.org/hegvr_tkl_2006.htm Origin of the Collection of All Sadhanas Cycle The Collection of All the Sadhanas is one of the most important initiation cycles in Tibetan Buddhism. This collection of one thousand initiations is an authoritative compendium of initiations for almost all of the short sadhanas of the Sakya, Kagyu, Kadam, Jonang, and Shangba Kagyu Schools, as well as some Nyingma sadhanas. The Collection of All the Sadhanas was compiled for the first time in the 1800s by the great Jamgon Loter Wangbo, a scholar of the non-sectarian movement, according to advice by Jamyang Kyentse Wangbo. In those days, Vajrayana practices and sadhanas were kept separately in hundreds of monastic libraries, and parts of the initiation and practice lineage were separately held by dozens of different lamas. The Collection of All the Sadhanas cycle is rarely bestowed even in India or Tibet. When it is bestowed, it is also rare for practitioners who are not lineage holders or senior monks to have the opportunity to receive it. Because the initiation cycle contains one thousand initiations, it is often given in portions over a longer period of several years, and this will also be the case when it is bestowed here in the United States at Tsechen Kunchab Ling. Beginning this year, and in following years, additional sections of initiations from this great cycle will be given at Tsechen Kunchab Ling until the transmission of the Collection of all the Sadhanas in the West is complete. ------------------------- The Cycle of One Hundred Bari Lotsawa Sadhanas This year, one of the most famous portions of the Collection of All the Sadhanas, which is known as One Hundred Bari Lotsawa Sadhanas, will be bestowed. Bari Lotsawa was one of the most important teachers and translators who helped to bring the "New Tradition Tantra" from India to Tibet in the eleventh century. Bari Lotsawa was the teacher of Sachen Kunga Nyingbo, who was the first of the five founders of the Sakya Order. Bari Lotsawa himself received the transmission of the practices contained in the cycle of One Hundred Bari Lotsawa Sadhanas from the Indian master Vajrasanapati (Dorje Denba). From that time until now, there has been an unbroken lineage of transmission and practice of these sadhanas for 1000 years within His Holiness the Sakya Trizin's Khon family. The cycle of One Hundred Bari Lotsawa Sadhanas begins with the major initiation of the Three Bodhisattvas (Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, and Vajrapani). This is followed by nearly eighty short initiations for many different tutelary deities, Bodhisattvas, wealth deities, and Dharma protectors. Among these are Hevajra, and a wide variety of different types of Manjushri, Tara, Yamari, Mahakala, Jambala, and Kurukuli practices, and many others. A full list of the initiations contained in this cycle is available at www.sakyatemple.org. Students wishing to participate in the cycle must receive the Three Bodhisattvas major empowerment as a pre-requisite and remain for the entire ten day cycle. Receiving these initiations prepares students for study and practice of a wide variety of tantras. After receiving the many blessings of the initiations, traditionally students choose one of them to practice. Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen, Vice President of Tsechen Kunchab Ling explained, "Receiving the Collection of One Hundred Bari Lotsawa Sadhanas, not to mention the full Collection of All the Tantras is a major blessing and event in a practitioner' s spiritual life. Receiving the initiations of these many deities has tremendous benefit. In this life, it brings the common attainments of pacification of negativity; increase of wealth, merit and life; the ability to subjugate gods, humans, and spirits; and the power to destroy negative forces. In the next life, it brings higher rebirth, the opportunity to practice the Dharma, and to more swiftly achieve Buddhahood. After receiving this profound initiation series, one may choose which deity they wish to practice. It is not necessary or even possible to practice all of them. The initiation series is like receiving a medicine kit, from which one chooses the medicine most necessary for oneself.

Traga Rinpoche Traga Rinpoche is an accomplished Dzogchen master, having received profound foundational and the most advanced teachings from some of the greatest living masters of Tibetan Buddhism -- including Khenpo Munsel, His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, Khenchen Jigme Phuntsog and many others -- and completed many retreats. From Garchen Rinpoche, Traga Rinpoche received teachings on all Drikung Kagyu texts on regular Dharma service and practice, the five-fold Mahamudra, the entire Dzogchen Yangzab teachings, and many profound pith instructions. He then did his Dzogchen Yangzab retreat at Lho Miyel Gon monastery. In early 1984, Traga Rinpoche received full gelong ordination from the Nyingma master Khenpo Munsel, who gave him the detailed teachings on Dzogchen “Cutting Through the Resistance to Primordial Purity.” Khenpo Munsel gently looked at Traga Rinpoche and said, “Your karmic propensity is to practice Dzogchen. I am your karmic lama. If you can meditate, you have today found the way to liberation in one life. You will never find something like this even if you went to look for it with your horse’s hooves encased in steel. Spend one year near me and meditate.” For the next seven years, he did retreat near Khenpo Munsel, and practiced Cutting Through, Passing Over, and many other advanced practices. In 1998, Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche -- determined to make Traga Rinpoche’s vast knowledge and profound experiential understanding of the highest level of Dzogchen teachings accessible to as many students as possible -- enthroned him as “Lopon Rinpoche” (Precious Master), with lavish praise for his hard work and outstanding achievements. His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche selected Traga Rinpoche as the retreat master and resident lama at the Garchen Buddhist Institute, and asked his students “to have full confidence in Traga Rinpoche, just as I have full confidence in him. May these teachings benefit all beings. Please let us know if you do not wish to receive these emails.

Suraj: DRUTHOB RINPOCHE Amitayus Long Life Initiation LOCATION Tibet House, 22 W 15th Steet, NYC TIME Sunday, September 10, 2006, 2:00 - 5:00pm BIOGRAPHY Drubthob Rinpoche was born in 1929 towards the end of the Iron Horse year, in Lhoga Dranag, a province in central Tibet. One day when he was about 7 years old, Kagyur Rinpoche recognized the boy as the reincarnation of the great yogi Drubchen Rinpoche, and informed his parent that he should be called "Druthob Rinpoche". Kangyur Rinpoche also advised the family that the boy should be ordained as monk in the Drepung Loseling monastery. By the age of 19, Rinpoche had mastered chants and rituals. He devoted himself to the study of logic, and study of the Prajnaparamita and Mandhyamika under Pema Gyaltsen and Yeshi Dhondup. He also studied the Vinaya under Lobsang Tsewang. Rinpoche also studied Phowa under the direction of Kangyu Rinpoche, and meditated in a 3-year retreat under the direction of Lhapten Rinpoche and Kangyu Rinpoche. Don. 10/13 7 pm Finding Peace Through Calm Abiding Meditation $20 10/14 11-1 pm Red Tara/Kurukulle Empowerment $30 10/14 3-6 pm Red Tara/Kurukulle Practice Instructions $25 10/15 10-1 & 3-6 Red Tara/Kurukulle Practice Instructions $50 10/16-17 10-1 & 3-6 Red Tara/Kurukulle Practice Sessions $60 The Retreat Red Tara is the deity who forcefully clears all inner and outer obstructions/obstacles to spiritual practice. In her aspect as Kurukulle, she is the deity of bliss and power. She is the inner dakini and performs the "magnetizing" activity that benefits all beings. She is also the source of fierce inner heat or "tummo". In Tibetan, her name is pronounced rik-jay-ma which means, the female buddha that awakens nondual awareness. This is a very special and rare Red Tara/Kurukulle practice which was revealed by the Drikung Treasure revealer Osel Dorje. Gape Lama is a very close lineage holder of this practice who holds the pith instructions for the accomplishment of this practice. We will receive the empowerment, receive the essential practice instructions, and then do a two day practice retreat. Also, for the first time the extensive sadhana for this practice which has been translated will be made available and taught on. Teachings will also be given on the concise practice text. This retreat contains everything needed to be able to do this practice with confidence. REGISTRATION Suggested donation for those attending complete retreat (10/13-17) $175. Further information on these teachings will soon be updated at www.ddcv.com No one turned away for lack of funds. Biography of Konchok Thubten Nima (Ven. Lama Gape) Lama Gape was born in the Kham (eastern) Region of Tibet in 1965. When he was 14, Lama Gape had the good fortune to receive instruction on the effects of virtuous and harmful actions by the great Yogi Damga, and he completed the four hundred thousand accumulations of the preliminary practices (Ngondro) according to the Buddhist Yangzab terma. Lama Gape made great efforts to travel to Gar Monastery where he received refuge ordination from the profoundly loved and respected Garchen Rinpoche. He then received full monastic ordination and the bodhisattva vow from the great siddha Karma Norbu, and was then admitted to Gar Monastery. While at Gar Monastery Lama Gape studied tantric ritual practices of the Old and New Schools, and engaged in a wide array of other religious trainings. Lama Gape received special training from the Hlo Lungkar Monastery Chant-master (religious ritual master), Lama Yungthar, including the Eight Heruka Sadhanas, the Embodiment of the Masters' Realization, Vajrakilaya, and Essence of Great Bliss. He then served as chant master for Gar Monastery and later as the disciplinarian. Thereafter, Lama Gape sought out and received teachings from many of the greatest living Buddhist masters including: Dzogchen Trekchod and Thogal from the highly-renowned and respected Khenpo Munsel Rinpoche; the entirety of the Drikung Kagyu protectors and the higher and lower tantra sections from His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche. Lama Gape also received personal, one-on-one instruction from the great Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche also gave Lama Gape the Kalachakra Empowerment and teachings and Kilaya cycle of teachings from Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche's own terma (mind treasure). At Drikung Thil, Lama Gape studied with the very venerable Drupon Tenzin Nyima and received some of the most profound teachings of the Drikung Kagyu linage, including the Fivefold Mahamudra and the Six Yogas [of Naropa]. He studied the Gong Chig (Single Intention), Essence of Mahayana, The Bodhisattva Way of Life, and the Thirty-Seven Bodhisattva Practices with Drikung Khenpo Namzig. Under the elder Drikung Chantmaster Konchok Samten, he trained in the ritual practices of Chakrasamvara, Varahi, the Yangzab, Sarvavid and Akshobhya. Lama Gape also received empowerment, teachings and pith instruction on the Yamantaka practice from the great Yanga Rinpoche. Thereafter, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche asked Lama Gape to undertake a series of assignments to help reorganize and reestablish Buddhist practice and monastic discipline in monasteries throughout the region after, in some cases, a twenty-five year breach in the Buddhist practice tradition. Some of the monasteries Lama Gape helped reestablish include: Hlo Miyel Monastery, Khargo Monastery and later Tseri Monastery in Sichuan -- where he reestablished the Great Accomplishment (Drupchen) practice of Yamantaka and gave other teachings. He next served (again at the request of H.E. Garchen Rinpoche) as Lama (religious teacher and minister) for two years at Tamgo Monastery in Central Tibet, the former dwelling place of Chung Dorje Dragpa -- the fourth lineage holder of the Drikung Kagyu. There Lama Gape established the summer retreat, set up a yearly teaching schedule and appointed a chant master, disciplinarian and shrine master. Subsequently, at Gar Monastery, Lama Gape took responsibility for instructing the nuns at the Fivefold Mahamudra Meditation Center of Gargon Nunnery. In the year 2000 Lama Gape went to India and received the complete Drikung Kagyu empowerments, transmissions and teachings during the Drikung Snake Year teachings. There he received teachings directly from His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche, and many other high Lamas. More info on Lama Gape can be found at www.thubtennima.net/ These teachings are sponsored by Drikung Dzogchen Community Vermont. Please let us know if you do not wish to receive these emails.

Suraj: New age

Good luck, Bye

2. http://www.aeroflot.ru/info.asp?ob_no=8974

Suraj: We are very happy to announce that H.E. Garchen Rinpoche will be in NYC on January 28-29 at Tibet House where he will be conferring a White Tara empowerment and doing the White Tara practice with us. This is a very rare and fortunate opportunity to practice with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche. We will be practicing the White Tara text that was revealed to the previous incarnation of H.E. Garchen Rinpoche in a dream. The practice is suitable for all levels of practitioners and there will be some time allocated to questions regarding this practice on Sunday afternoon. White Tara offers peace, prosperity, health and long life. She is depicted with the body of an older woman that is the brilliant white of a thousand autumn moons. She has a third eye in her forehead that symbolizes her vision of the unity of ultimate reality while simultaneously seeing the relative and dualistic world with her ‘usual’ two eyes. Her hands and feet also have eyes, showing that whatever she gives and wherever she goes is governed by her ultimate wisdom and compassion. She is the protective, helpful and comforting mother whose kindness, generosity and protection toward those tossed in the ocean of samsara knows no bounds. Sunday, January 28, 2007 9:00 am – 12:00 pm: White Tara Empowerment 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Teaching on the Practice of the Refined Drop of Immortality: A Longevity Mandala Practice of Arya Tara, the Wish-Granting Cakra Monday, January 29 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 2:00pm – 5:00 White Tara Practice with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche Tuesday, January 30 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: White Tara Practice with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Milarepa Tsok Location: Tibet House, 22 West 15th Street, New York, NY 10011 Suggested donation: $25.00 per day or $75.00 for the entire event. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please contribute what you consider appropriate, taking into account your situation and the preciousness of the retreat with H.E. Garchen Rinpoche. White Tara Practice Text: Although 8.5 X 11 format texts will be available free of charge, any contribution towards copying costs will be gratefully appreciated. More formal, pecha-format printed texts will be available for $28.00 or whatever donation you deem appropriate. All the proceeds from the sale of these texts will go toward the Southwest Buddha Field Endowment Fund (a flyer about the Endowment Fund will be available at the event.) Registration: Please email garregister@yahoo.com to let us know you are coming and which days you plan to attend. We will then be able to email you a registration form. Housing: If you live in the NYC area and have an extra bed or couch or space available or know of affordable housing, or if you need housing please email us at: garhousing@yahoo.com. Biography – H.E. Garchen Rinpoche H.E. Garchen Rinpoche is known around the world for his great kindness, vast realization and teachings from the heart, both profound and humble; a Drikung Kagyu lama who was known in the thirteenth century as the Siddha Gar Chodingpa, a heart disciple of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon. In ancient India, he had incarnated as Mahasiddha Aryadeva, the lotus-born disciple of the great Nagarjuna. In the seventh century, he was known as Lonpo Gar, the minister of the Tibetan Dharma King Songsten Gampo. He was recognized and enthroned in eastern Tibet by the former Drikung Kyabgon Zhiwe Lodro. Studying and practicing under the direction of the Siddha Chime Dorje, Garchen Rinpoche received vast and profound instructions on the preliminary practices (ngöndro), the fivefold practice of Mahamudra and the six yogas of Naropa. At the age of 22, he was imprisoned for 20 years during the political turmoil of China’s Cultural Revolution. While in the labor camp, he received meditation instruction from his root lama, the Nyingma master Khenpo Munsel. Enduring hardship and practicing secretly, Garchen Rinpoche attained realization of the lama’s wisdom mind. In recent years, Garchen Rinpoche has made great effort to rebuild the Drikung Kagyu monasteries in Eastern Tibet, reestablish the Buddhist teachings, build two boarding schools for local children in eastern Tibet, while at the same time wholeheartedly giving profound teachings of the lineage to others.

Updates will soon be posted at www.ddcv.com BIOGRAPHY for Venerable Traga RinpocheThe Venerable Traga Rinpoche was born in 1954 into a long lineage of great Tantric Yogis. His paternal ancestry traces back to Rigzin Godem (1337-1408), the discoverer of the Northern Treasures of the Nyingmapa School. Rinpoche’s mother was a true Wisdom Dakini who recited Tara’s mantra almost constantly. Very special signs were seen at Rinpoche’s birth. At age 4, the 7th Lhotual Khakhyab Dorje recognized him as the reincarnation of Togden Tsondrue Tharchin (xxxx to xxxx). Due to the political unrest in Tibet, there was no opportunity to enthrone him and teach him Dharma., so Rinpoche studied Tibetan Medicine for 8 years and both studied and taught the Tibetan language. Traga Rinpoche is an accomplished Dzogchen and Mahamudra master. He has received profound foundational as well as the most advanced teachings from some of the greatest living masters of Tibetan Buddhism including His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, Khenchen Jigme Phuntsog and many others. He has completed over 10 years of retreats. From Garchen Rinpoche, Traga Rinpoche received teachings on all Drikung Kagyu texts, the five-fold Mahamudra, Dzogchen Yangzab teachings, and many profound pith instructions. He did a Dzogchen Yangzab retreat at Lho Miyel Gon Monastery. In early 1984, Traga Rinpoche received full gelong ordination from the Nyingma Master Khenpo Munsel, who gave him the detailed teachings on Dzogchen Tregchöd. Khenpo Munsel gently looked at Traga Rinpoche and said, “Your karmic propensity is to practice Dzogchen. I am your karmic lama. If you can meditate, you have today found the way to liberation in one life. You will never find something like this even if you went to look for it with your horse’s hooves encased in steel. Spend one year near me and meditate.” For the next seven years, Traga Rinpoche did retreat near Khenpo Munsel, and practiced Tregchöd, Thögal, practices of working with the vital energies, and other advanced practices. Rinpoche has received and practiced many different lineages of the Six Yogas of Naropa. He studied and practiced Vajrayogini, Marpa's Guru Yoga and the Six Yogas with a Karma Kagyu Togden known for flying from mountain top to mountain top. Later he received and practiced the profound Drikung path of the Six Yogas and Mahamudra with Drupon Tenzin Nyima. Rinpoche has also studied with the Drugpa Kagyu Togdens of Tashi Jong. In 1990, Traga Rinpoche went to see Khenchen Jigme Phuntsog. For 100 days, he received teachings and meditated. Some of the teachings/empowerments included the Dakini Heart Eseence teachings, Awareness-expression Empowerment, and the Khregs Chod, written by Khenchen Jigme Phuntsog himself. Traga Rinpoche went to Chamdo in 1992 where Khenchen Karma Tseten asked him to give oral transmissions to the monks and nuns of Trachog Gon Monastery. Rinpoche was named “Lung Lama” or “Transmission Lama” by the Khenpos and Tulkus of the monastery. In December, 1993, Traga Rinpoche arrived at Jangchub Ling Monastery in India where he met His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche. His Holiness gave him, among others, the Chakrasamvara Empowerment and transmission of the Five-Fold Mahamudra, He also received the wheel of Life Scripture, one of 18 major scriptures of the Mind Section of Dzogchen. Rinpoche then spent one year meditating at Lapchi, a place of special power where Milarepa had meditated. In 1998, Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche, determined to make Traga Rinpoche’s vast knowledge and profound experiential understanding of the highest level of Dzogchen teachings accessible to as many students as possible, enthroned him as “Lopon Rinpoche” (Precious Master), with lavish praise for his hard work and outstanding achievements. His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche selected Traga Rinpoche as the Retreat Master and Resident Lama at the Garchen Buddhist Institute, and asked his students to have full confidence in him, “just as I have full confidence in him." Garchen Rinpoche has also specifically said, "It may seem like there are many great Lamas out there. Yet Traga Rinpoche is like gold. Even if put in a burning fire, he just glows." Apr 25 -29, 2007 His Holiness Orgyen Kusum Lingpa is one of the few living, genuine treasure revealers -- who clearly remembers (as Lalung Paldor, one of the 25 heart disciples) receiving transmissions directly from Guru Rinpoche at the original Samye temple -- and one of the most precious, senior masters still living in Tibet. Suraj: COMPLETE BREATHING COURSE WITH FABIO ANDRICO IN NEW YORK APRIL 2007‎ One of the most important aspects for a healthy life dwells in the art of harmonious breathing. In general we all know how to inhale and exhale, but we usually do it in an incorrect way because our breathing is connected and conditioned by our mind, which is often confused, distracted and tense. For this reason it is necessary to coordinate our breathing so that the Prana energy, which circulates in our body and is related to our energy, can be controlled, balanced and harmonized. Our mental and physical health is related to the condition of our energy. Knowing how to apply a deep, relaxed and harmonious complete breathing is the first milestone on the way to achieving this important goal. Suraj: Вадим, тебе может быть очень кстати... :) [b]Bar-do thos-grol chen-mo, The Great Liberation by hearing in the Intermediate States.Venerable Khenpo Sonam Topgyal Rinpoche 2007 New York Teachings‎ of the Taklung Kagyu seat at Riwoche, in Tibet. Khenpo's great-uncle Nora Rinpoche, is one of the earliest Tibetan masters to spread the teachings throughout modern China. From the time he was very young Khenpo Rinpoche was brought into the study of sacred dharma and received teaching and guidance. After being forced into exile, Rinpoche studied closely with the most illustrious masters of the Kagyu and Nyingma teachings, including His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Chadral Rinpoche Sanjay Dorje, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche, and many others. Through establishing Riwoche Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Toronto, Khenpo Sonam continues to work tirelessly and without fanfare to benefit beings and preserve the dharma.] This coming May, Khenpo Sonam Topgyal Rinpoche is back to New York to give two evening teachings in Manhattan follow by a weekend retreat at Blazing Wisdom Institute, on Karma Lingpa¡¯s Bar-do thos-grol chen-mo, The Great Liberation by hearing in the Intermediate States. These teachings comprehend both highest level development stage yoga practice, and highest completion stage yoga practice (both with and without signs). They present a complete path, from beginning to end. Indeed, they present a fundamental framework for understanding the nature of sentient experience, as the bardo teachings reveal that we are always in transition, passing from one phase of experience to another. Each interval of experience provides its own unique opportunities to cultivate a deeper understanding of and more profound way of interacting with phenomena. The teachings truly open the doorway to awakening for the wise and diligent, and provide manifold blessing through contact, taste, hearing, and so forth for all others who are fortunate to connect with them through transmission from an accomplished holder of the teachings. Khenpo Sonam Tobgyal Rinpoche is extremely well-versed in these teachings, and will provide a progressively deeper introduction to and explication of the bardos, and of the levels of practice that may be cultivated within each bardo. The program will begin with two consecutive evening talks in New York City, followed by a more in-depth and practical weekend training. We strongly recommend that participants make every effort to follow the entire program through from start to finish, if at all possible. Atsara Sale, one of the heart sons of Guru Rinpoche, was renowned as a great practitioner of Vajrakilaya, and a consort of Yeshe Tsogyal. Their relationship has become the source of inspiration for students through the ages. The first incarnation known as Thupten Nyingpo was the younger brother and close disciple of the great 19th century Drikung Treasure revealer Nuden Dorje. The first Ontul Rinpoche was the older brother and close disciple of Lho Nuden Dorje. Hence, historically, these three incarnations have always been very close. Traditionally they have all resided at Lho Lungkar Gon Monastery in Historic Eastern Tibet, Kham, China. Currently, Lho Ontul Rinpoche resides at Ogmin Thubten Shedrup Ling (another name for Lho Lungkar Gon) in Tso Pema, India, and Tulku Thubten Nyingpo and Lho Bongtul Rinpoche (Nuden Dorje) reside at Lho Lungkar Gon. And, just as they have been historically, these three Nuden Dorje Lamas are very close. In fact, Tulku Thubten Nyingpo came to the U.S. in 2004 at the request of Ontul Rinpoche and other Lamas. The first Thupten Nyingpo Rinpoche became a great siddha, highly accomplished in the practices of Chvd and Vajrakilaya. Students of the Drikung lineage should note that the present Thupten Nyingpo's previous incarnation was one of the root Drikung teachers of the present Garchen Rinpoche. At an empowerment that Garchen Rinpoche gave in 2004, he mentioned that the Lama whom he received this empowerment from, as well as all The 50 Empowerments of Lord Jigten Sumgon, was the previous Tulku Thubten Nyingpo. Likewise, His Eminence told his students at a teaching in New York State in 2004, that Rinpoches students should make every effort to receive teachings from Tulku Thubten Nyingpo, that they should run- not walk to go and receive teachings from Thubten Nyingpo Rinpoche!! Thubten Nyingpos teachers include H.H. Chetsang Rinpoche, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, Ven. Ontul Rinpoche, Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche, and Drubwang Rinpoche. Rinpoche has studied and practiced in Tibet, at Jangchub Ling, and also at the Payul (Nyingma) Shedra in South India. His activities at his Monastery include creating a new Shedra (Scriptural College), as well as a school to care for and educate local children. Following in the tradition of his previous incarnations, the present Thupten Nyinpo Rinpoche is also an accomplished Chod Master and Vajrakilaya practitioner. In 1981 he began his college education at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (University) in Sarnath, Varnasi, India. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 1988 in the Sanskrit, Hindi, Tibetan, and English languages and in Buddhist philosophy. Pursuing graduate study at the University, he was President of the student union, and served two years as a Kagyu Committee member. In 1990 he received his Master's degree in advanced Buddhist philosophy. Upon graduation he also received a special award from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After graduation, Lama Gursam was requested by His Holiness Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche to come to the Drikung Kagyu Institute in Dehra Dun, India, at a critical time where there was a great lack of teachers and funding for education. There he served as a volunteer for five years, teaching Tibetan language and Buddhist philosophy and history. He also held the posts of Instructor, Head of Examinations, and Assistant Director while serving as secretary to His Holiness Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, the head of the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. During this time, he also did a one-year meditation retreat and received Dzogchen teachings and empowerments from Khenchen Thupten Rinpoche and other lamas of the Nyingma lineage. He also studied with Dr. Pema Gyaltsen, a specialist in the Tibetan language. In 1995, Lama Gursam was sent by His Holiness Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche to the United States, where he taught Buddhist philosophy for five years. Lama Gursam worked as a resident teacher in a Tibetan Meditation Center, also serving as director of North American Drikung Kagyu Center. Then Lama Gursam met His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, whom he considers to be the second Milarepa. Under H.E. Garchen Rinpoche's guidance, together with the Venerable Traga Rinpoche, he became a yogi, and in 2002 he completed a traditional three-year retreat in the United States, practicing Mahamudra and the Six Yogas of Naropa. After a nationwide teaching tour, he then traveled to India, Nepal and the border of Tibet, where he completed a six-month retreat in Milarepa's cave at Lapchi. Lama Gursam continues to return every year to India for teachings and retreats, and every year to the United States and Canada to reunite with friends and students for teachings. His current sanghas are located in Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and Arizona, as well as Montreal and Sault Sainte Marie, Canada. Additionally, every 2-3 years, Lama Gursam leads a pilgrimage to Buddhist holy places in India and Nepal. In 2006, Lama Gursam founded The Bodhichitta Foundation, a U.S. non-profit organization officially recognized by His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, head of the Drikung Kagyu lineage. The Bodhichitta Foundation benefits the West with teachings, a future center and retreat land, and the East, preserving ancient texts, Tibetan culture, education, women's rights, and health. Patrul Rinpoche hasreceived all the empowerments and instructions of both the Heruka Düdjom Lingpa and thegreat treasure revealer Namkha Jigme. Extensive Biography:Long ago, the great lord Padmakara entrusted the entire range of essential key instructions on the secret and profound Great Perfection to the undying expanse, the core of Lhacham Padmasal’s heart. Later, once the appropriate mindset arose and the right time had come, a series of beings were born, starting with the great treasure revealer Sangye Lama and continuing on to the Rigdzin Jingmé Lingpa. The first thirteen of these masters are known as “the thirteen renowned reincarmnations of Lhacham.”The list of incarnations includes:1) Lhacham Padmasal, 2) the treasure revealer Sangye Lama, 3) Gya Lotsawa, 4) the siddha Ngodrup, 5) Padma Ledreltsal, 6) Longchen Rabjam, 7) Orgyen Lingpa, 8) Ngari Panchen, 9) Chogyal Rinchen Phuntsok, 10) Tashi Topgyal, 11) Lhatsun Namkha Jigmé, 12) Chojé Lingpa, 13) Jigmé Lingpa, 14) Orgyen Jigmé Chowang, 15) the great treasure revealer Namkha Jigmé, and 16) Choktrül jigmé Rikpey Dorjé. The succession of the throne holders of the monastic seat are as follows: 1) the first Patrul Samten Phuntsok, 2) the second Patrul Khampa Ngotsarchen, 3) the third Patrul Orgyen Jigmé Chokyi wangpo, 4) the fourth Patrul, the son of the blood drinking Düdjom Dorjé, the emanation Guru Nyima Ozer; the master of an ocean of qualities of learning and accomplishment, the great treasure revealer Namkha Jigmé. The fifth Patrul, Jigmé Rikpey Dorjé, was born in the water hare year of the sixteenth cycle(the Western year 1963). His father was the heart son of the great treasure revealer Namkha Jigmé, the emanated display of Thupten Chokyi Dorjé, the mantradhara vidyadhara Drupwang Sherap Mebar. His mother was the Dakini Tsering Lhaga. This matched the prophecy of the great treasure revealer Namkha Jigmé, who stated that he would take a future rebirth in the home of Gopey Labrang. He was then correctly identified as the reincarnation of the great treasure revealer guru by the yogi of the definitive meaning, Rigdzin Gyurmé Namgyal. The great spiritual master RongKyap Lama Lodro Gyaltsen, Khysentsé Rabsel Dawa, Gurong Gyalsey and other masters concurred with this recognition and offered letters of support. He then learned to read, write and so forth with no difficulty under the tutelage of the great Khenpo, Lama Sonam Tsewang. Once the teachings began to flourish again, he was enthroned on the golden throne of Gyalwa Phukhang. He then studied at the lotus feet of many sacred teachers, including the all-seeing Khenchen Padma Tsewang, Khyentsé Rabsel Dawa, Gonla Padma Ozer, Trül Sheycha Tokmey Tsal and Rigdzin Sheyrab Meybar. He studied a virtual ocean of teachings relating to the Kama and Terma traditions of the Ancient Translation School (Nyingma). In particular, he received all the empowerments and instructions of the collected works of both the Heruka Düdjom Dorjé and the great treasure revealer Namkha Jigmé. At present, this young master has taken responsibility for maintaining the Buddha’s teachings at Gyalwa Phukhang Monastery. His activities of enlightened body, speech, and mind have been vast. He has created a printing facitlity to house an extensive collections of teachings from the Kama and Terma traditions of the Ancient Translation school (Nyingma). He has directed the construction of Zangdok Palri Temple and Patrul Temple in accordance with all religious specifications. His foremost commitment remains to offer a variety to ripening and liberating transmissions associated with the Patrul incarnation lineage to monks and lamas at the monastery and to an ever increasing number of dedicated lay practitioners. This translation of Patrul Rinpoche's biography was done by Cortland J. Dahl who has kindly given us his permission to reprint it here.

Such negativity is purified into the state of untied emptiness and compassion through this practice and meditation. Weekend activities will include raising new prayer flags around the Padma Samye Ling gonpa, as well as performing fire and smoke offering ceremonies. Dates Saturday, May 24 - Monday, May 26

Suraj: Dear dharma friends, I'm happy to announce that Theglo Rinpoche has kindly accepted our invitation to visit Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center (NPDC) next month. Rinpoche was invited to the U.S. by Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche in order to bestow the empowerments for the treasure cycles of Dudjom Lingpa and Kunzang Nyima. Please see the attached files for a message from Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche and Tulku Theglo's biography. I personally felt very fortunate to meet with Theglo Rinpoche when he first arrived in America last month. Rinpoche is the great-grandson of Dudjom Lingpa, the great Mahasiddha, whose stories I have heard many times from my father, who was a ngakpa following the Dudjom Tersar Lineage. Theglo Rinpoche will be giving the empowerment for King Gesar of Ling at NPDC in New York. King Gesar is the emanation of Guru Rinpoche and in the future will be the King of Shambhala in the apocalyptic war which will bring an end to this Kaliyuga, or dark age. You can practice Gesar as a Lama, Yidam, or Protector. Among our sangha members I see an inclination to do protector practices in order to smooth our way. Perhaps Gesar is the right protector for all of us. Unlike the commitments required when receiving empowerments for other protectors, Gesar can be practiced at your convenience. Theglo Rinpoche and Khandrola will be in New York City from May 5th-7th. He will give the King Gesar Empowerment on May 5th, at 7 p.m. at the Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center. We will offer a brief tour of New York on May 6th, and he will leave for Palri Pema Od Ling in Austin, Texas, on May 7th. The event will be free for all, and you may make an offering to Rinpoche and Khandrola after the empowerment. You are most welcome also to make a donation to help cover the expenses of this visit, or to offer a ride during our visitors' stay in New York. Yours in Dharma, Khenpo Tenzin Norgay

Suraj: https://www.ligmincha.org/component/option,com_retreat/Itemid,138/retreat_id,17/ A Tri Trul Khor (Tibetan Yoga) with Alejandro Chaoul-Reich May 15, 2008 - May 18, 2008 Alejandro Chaoul-Reich In the Tibetan spiritual traditions, body, energy, and mind are known as the three doors to enlightenment. The contemplative physical movements of Tibetan yoga (trul khor) enable us to enter all three doors at once through a single practice, offering a powerful, skillful means for clearing the obstacles and obscurations to openness and clarity in meditation practice. Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche encourages all his students to engage in the trul khor movements to support their meditation practice. A committed group of practitioners continues to regularly engage in the trul khor of the Oral Transmission of Zhang Zhung. However, because some students have found these practices to be physically too demanding, Rinpoche has created a new, more accessible presentation of 16 “magical movements,” drawing from the 40 trul khor movements of the A Tri Bön dzogchen tradition. This new set of 16 contemplative physical movements is appropriate, doable and recommended for virtually every student. It incorporates each of the five kinds of lung (prana, vital breath) that many students will recognize from the tsa lung practice of the Bön Mother Tantra. This retreat led by senior student Alejandro Chaoul-Reich provides an in-depth exploration of the body’s energetic dimension: the subtle channels, the vital breath that circulates through them, and the subtlest aspects of the mind. There is no prerequisite for attending. All students are warmly invited by Tenzin Rinpoche to learn these movements and benefit from practicing them. RETREAT COST (includes meals; accommodations are available): $275 received by April 10; $325 received after April 10. ALEJANDRO CHAOUL-REICH is a senior student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and has studied with many Tibetan Bon and Buddhist masters for almost 20 years. Alejandro additionally serves as director of Ligmincha Institute:Texas, Houston (www.ligminchatexas.org). Alejandro teaches meditation to cancer patients and their supporters and is involved in research using tsa lung trul khor with cancer patients at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is also an assistant professor at the John P. McGovern, M.D., Center for Health, Humanities, and the Human Spirit and the U.T. School of Medicine in Houston; and is director of the Center for Professional Renewal at the Institute for Religion and Health at the Texas Medical Center. Alejandro received his Ph.D. in Tibetan religions from Rice University. Login to register

The central meditation visualization of the saddhana is on wisdom Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal, a consort of Guru Rinpoche and the Founding Mother of Tibetan Buddhism. This is one of the most profound practices in Longchen Nyingthik tradition. Beginning from refuge, it is grounded in the Dzogchen teachings. Having great altruistic motivation for virtuous deeds from early childhood in 1984 he entered Tana Monastery, receiving his vows as a novice (getsul) monk from Tulku Nyendrak Gyaltsen Rinpoche. While helping with the reconstruction of the Monastery, he received teachings on the Fivefold Path of Mahamudra and Kunsang Lama's Words of Profound Instruction, Dzogchen's Great Completion Parting from Samsara and Nirvana, Pointing Out the Nature of Mind, and other teachings from Tulku Nyendrak Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Rinpoche has also received Chakrasamvara according to Drilbupa, including the empowerment, scriptural transmission, and pith instructions from Tulku Thogme Rinpoche. In 1993 he left Tibet for India. On his way to India he made a pilgrimage to the sacred Mount Kailash. Tibetan Buddhists call the mountain Kang Rimpoche, the 'Precious One of Glacial Snow', and regard it as the dwelling place of Demchog (also known as Chakrasamvara) and his consort, Dorje Phagmo. In exile Drupon Dorje joined the Drikung Kagyu Institute in 1993, and has received instruction in philosophy, Gongchig, Theckchen Tenying, Dhagpo Thargyan, and Uttaratantra from Khenchen Konchog Gyaltsen and other profound teachers of the Lineage. In 1995 Drupon Dorje received full ordination (gelong) vows from His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, and in the same year accomplished the ngondro practices of Mahamudra and the grand mantra recitation of Chakrasamvara. In 1996, he received initiation into the Profound Path of the Six Yogas of Naropa. Drupon Rinchen Dorje Rinpoche has completed two (2) three-year retreat courses, one at Almora and one at Lachi, holy retreat place of the great yogi, Milarepa. He has received profound instructions too numerous to mention during these retreats. In 2005, he received the five-deities Hevajra according to Marpa's tradition of empowerment, transmission and instructions from His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, and in 2006 he completed the grand mantra recitation of glorious Hevajra's fire puja at the Almora retreat center. Hence for his accomplishments he was awarded the title, Drupon, meaning "Retreat Master." Currently, Drupon Rinchen Dorje Rinpoche is the Resident Lama for both the Drikung Kagyu Dharma Circle - Madison, Wisconsin and their sister sangha, Chicago Ratna Shri.

Yumka is practiced on Dakini Day (the 25th day of the Tibetan calendar) at Namdroling Monastery, the primary residence of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, and at many other Palyul and Nyingma centers worldwide. In 1994, under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, Gyangkhang Rinpoche took the vows of full monastic ordination. Upon completion of the nine-year course of advanced studies at the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute in 1995, Rinpoche received the title of “Khentul” and was acclaimed by His Holiness as “displaying abundant skill in leading others on the path to enlightenment.” In accordance with ancient Buddhist traditions, this Empowerment is offered entirely free of charge, leaving matters concerning support of the teacher to a disciple’s level of commitment and generosity. He has completed more than ten years of retreat. In early 1984, Traga Rinpoche received full gelong ordination from the Nyingma master Khenpo Munsel, who gave him the detailed teachings on Dzogchen Cutting Through the Resistance to Primordial Purity. Khenpo Munsel gently looked at Traga Rinpoche and said, your karmic propensity is to practice Dzogchen. I am your karmic lama. If you can meditate, you have today found the way to liberation in one life. You will never find something like this even if you went to look for it with your horse's hooves encased in steel. Spend one year near me and meditate. For the next seven years, he did retreat near Khenpo Munsel, and practiced Trekcho - Cutting Through, Thogal - Passing Over, and many other advanced practices. In 1998, Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche -- determined to make Traga Rinpoche's vast knowledge and profound experiential understanding of the highest level of Dzogchen teachings accessible to as many students as possible -- enthroned him as Lopon Rinpoche (Precious Master), with lavish praise for his hard work and outstanding achievements. His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche selected Traga Rinpoche as the retreat master and resident lama at the Garchen Buddhist Institute in Chino Valley, Arizona, and asked his students to have full confidence in Traga Rinpoche, just as, Garchen Rinpoche said, "I have full confidence in him." __._,_.___
